THE PROCESS 

Each and every one of our products is designed and handcrafted in Brisbane, Australia from carefully selected materials.

The creative process is slow and involves hours of sketching ideas, testing designs by making prototypes, sourcing quality hardware and embellishments on top of the actual making. 

Due to the handmade nature of our products, minor imperfections are to be expected. Each individual earring is unique and may include variations to its sister earring. This ensures a one-of-a-kind product! We do take a lot of care to try and produce accessories that are consistent and we ensure that each piece is inspected for quality prior to listing it for sale. We're proud of what we create!

It's also important to remember that laptops and phone screens may slightly alter the colour of a piece. When we take photos of our accessories we limit the amount of editing and try to keep them as real and close to the actual hue. 

 

WHAT MATERIALS DO YOU USE? 

All accessories are made using quality polymer clay, professional grade yupo paper or high quality resin. All of these mediums are surprisingly lightweight which makes them perfect for statement size earrings that can be worn all day and all night!

Some pieces are created using mixed mediums including acrylic paint, alcohol ink, metallic leafing or powdered shimmer pigments while others are finished with a high gloss UV resin or matte varnish .

A combination of stainless-steel posts, hooks and ball studs are used in our earrings. We strive to ensure that all posts are hypoallergenic and nickel free so they should suit most ears. Each post is attached to the back of the clay piece using industrial strength adhesive.

Lead-free jump rings are used to assemble the accessories and some styles incorporate brass charms, silk tassels, natural pearls or beads. Brass is an alloy made up of zinc and copper which makes it suitable for those with nickel allergies.

WHAT IS POLYMER CLAY? 

Polymer Clay is an art medium that is known for its versatility, pliability and simplicity to work with. It is an oven bake modelling material composed of polymers, resins, colouring agents and fillers. Not a natural clay, it is man-made from a plastic, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) base. Polymer clay is certified as nontoxic.

WHAT IS YUPO PAPER? 

Yupo Paper is a recyclable, waterproof, tree-free Synthetic Paper that has an extra smooth surface and can be used with a combination of medias. 

 

HOW DO I LOOK AFTER MY ACCESSORIES? 

Our clay, yupo and resin earrings are exceptionally light and sturdy but they must be treated with care. They are after all pieces of art swinging delicately from your lobes! 

Polymer clay accessories are slightly flexible (which means they are less susceptible to breakages but don't test dropping them on to any hard surfaces!) and relatively durable, but not indestructible and are not recommended for rough play or sleeping in. That goes for resin and yupo earrings too. 

When not being worn make sure you store them in a clean, dry and safe place out of reach from little ones and pets. Don't leave them in your hot car or direct sunlight for extended periods of time as exposure to extreme heat may cause them to soften and warp.

Try and keep your accessories clear of oils, creams and perfumes. If you find that the clay pieces have gotten dirty (from makeup or the daily grind) try cleaning them with soap and water or an unscented baby wipe. If the metal components are dirty you can clean them with a special jewellery cleaning cloth. Brass pieces will age and naturally darken over time but the less you touch them the better. Try using a soft cloth and tarnish remover to fix this. 

For the longevity of your earrings do not wear them in the water or whilst showering.  

 

WHAT DO I DO IF MY ACCESSORIES BREAK? 

If you treat your accessories with TLC they shouldn't shatter but sometimes things do break or crack under pressure. If you find your accessories have broken for no reason please get in touch with us. 

 

THE ITEM I WANTED HAS BEEN SOLD, WILL YOU MAKE ANOTHER ONE? 

All accessories are made in very small batches and patterned slabs are usually one off runs in limited styles. This ensures what you're buying in unique and one of a kind. At times I will replicate patterned slabs however they will never be 100% the same and will have their own uniqueness. Colour block accessories will be recreated time after time.  

 

WHEN WILL YOU RESTOCK YOUR STORE? 

New collections are added to our story irregularly. Restock dates will be shared on our instagram and facebook accounts. 

 

DO YOU TAKE CUSTOM ORDERS?
